I agree of course3; however I’m talking specifically about professors. If we have faith, the grace will be supplied for all our needs, including doing our duty, whether in our flesh we feel like doing so or not. But it still takes getting over our sinful natures to take free and willing access of that grace, its not something we can feel, we only make use of it, by using it, and only can know its there by using it, I.E doing. It’s yet another example of strength being made perfect in weakness and God’s grace being sufficient for us. But we have to make use of it to make it so, rather than pleasing our flesh, otherwise we would just be puppets with no will of our own. Grace gives us the ability to choose good, and use that grace God has given us..but we still have to get over ourselves and our sinful natures to do so, and fulfil our duties by being doers of the Word. Grace is free and unmerited, but we are sitll not puppets with no say in the matter. (I know you weren’t saying that, yet its very easy for it to sound like that’s what Calvinist’s believe and it can become very confusing in those cases) I may not be saying this well; but yes..the best we can ever do in this world is still tainted with sin I agree. The filthy rags Isa speaks of comes to mind.

In my latest I present a non-scholar, and discuss a philosophy of blogging. I would appreciate your feedback, if you feel inspired.:)

Hi Russ,
yep,in the days before electronic communication and before everything was so readily and easily available to us as it is now, I’m sure this is just how John Calvin became such a scholar of the Scriptures, through publications like this!!
(excuse the sarcasm)
